Assignment Details:

• Type: Temp to Perm (Opportunity to extend or go permanent based on business needs and performance)
• Pay Rate: $20.00/hour
• Location: Onsite – 200 Howard Ave, Suite 226, Des Plaines, IL 60018
• Schedule Options:
• • 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM (Evening Shift)
  • Overnights – 7 days on / 7 days off, 10:00 PM or 11:00 PM start time

Job Summary

The Pharmacy Technician – Order Entry (LTC) will perform all duties related to preparing, verifying, and dispensing prescriptions in a fast-paced, closed-door long-term care (LTC) pharmacy setting. This role requires strong accuracy, attention to detail, and effective communication skills to ensure safe and timely medication processing for patients and facilities. Ideal candidates will have previous LTC or pharmacy order entry experience and a current Pharmacy Technician License . This is a full-time opportunity with long-term potential based on performance and business needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately input new and refill prescription orders into the pharmacy computer system.
• Retrieve, verify, and update patient profiles including medications, allergies, and ancillary orders.
• Verify the completeness and accuracy of physician orders and clarify missing information with facility nurses as needed.
• Prepare, process, and dispense prescriptions in accordance with applicable regulations.
• Maintain and process patient medical records and prescription documentation.
• Assist with daily pharmacy workflow to ensure timely order processing and delivery.
• Process prescription claims and coordinate with third-party payers for payment.
• Answer phone inquiries and provide exceptional customer service to facilities and nursing staff.
• Support training and onboarding of new staff as directed.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience: Minimum 2 years of pharmacy technician experience required; long-term care or order entry pharmacy experience strongly preferred.
• Licensure: Active Pharmacy Technician License (certified or grandfathered).
• Skills & Knowledge:
• • Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Familiarity with LTC pharmacy software and systems preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and math skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and maintain high accuracy.
  • Must maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and attention to detail at all times.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and adapt to workflow changes.
  • Must be able to travel on an as-needed basis.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality required.
