Base pay range $90,000.00/yr - $110,000.00/yr We are looking for a Senior Property Accountant to join our finance team. In this role, you’ll take ownership of a growing real estate portfolio and play a key part in the monthly accounting cycle, financial reporting, and budget management. You’ll partner closely with Property Managers and Asset Managers, providing insights that drive portfolio performance. Key Responsibilities Oversee all accounting functions for an assigned real estate portfolio with minimal oversight, taking full ownership of financial results. Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, journal entries, and proper coding of transactions. Partner with Property Managers on payables, budgets, and day-to-day portfolio administration. Assist with preparation and review of annual operating budgets, ensuring accuracy and alignment with underwriting and leasing assumptions. Perform tenant ledger reconciliations, aged receivables analysis, and annual CAM reconciliations, including lease agreement reviews. Review general ledger activity and monthly financial statements, performing variance analysis and identifying discrepancies between actual and budgeted results. Support periodic reforecasting efforts and provide recommendations to improve financial performance. Ensure data accuracy by reviewing lease agreements and entering information into Yardi Voyager . Maintain prepaid expense schedules and ensure timely expense recognition in collaboration with the accounting team and Property Managers. Prepare audit-ready documentation, ensuring compliance with internal controls and policies. Create and maintain advanced Excel reports and financial models to support management decision-making. Assist with special projects such as work-in-progress account maintenance, credit card and expense reporting, and corporate financial statements. Qualifications Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience; real estate or public accounting background strongly preferred. CPA designation preferred (or willingness to pursue certification). Experience with Yardi software a strong plus. Prior exposure to lease review/interpretation is highly desirable. Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while balancing multiple priorities. Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to partner effectively with cross-functional teams. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting. Self-motivated with a “can-do” attitude and a strong sense of accountability.
